“Recuerdos de la Alhambra” (Memories of the Alhambra) by the composer Francisco Tárrega (1852-1909) is one of the most famous tremolo pieces written for guitar.

The piece is characterized by this technique, the “tremolo”, to interpret the melodic line, in which each note is played several times quickly, giving rise to this succession to the illusion that every note sounds in a sustained way. To perform this technique, the interpreter dots the string with the ring, heart and index fingers sequentially. The thumb is used to play the accompaniment in more serious arpeggios than the melody. It is common to think that the play is being performed by two guitars the first time it is heard.

Andrea González Caballero’s interpretations are famous for their strong character and sensitivity. That is why she was described as “The female voice of the Spanish guitar” by the Operaworld Magazine. She has won numerous international awards and is one of the promising classical guitarists of this time.
